SCHOOL BOARD PROCEEDINGS

The Avoyelles Parish School Board met in Special Board Meeting on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at the School Board Office, in Marksville, Louisiana, with the following members present:

Lynn Deloach, President; Robin Moreau, Jay Callegari, Chris Robinson, and Aimee Dupuy.

Absent: Latisha Small, Keith Lacombe, Jill Guidry and Rickey Adams

An Invocation was offered by Lynn Deloach, Board President.

The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America led by Board Member Robin Moreau.

1.         Superintendent Tutor, addressed the Board with a recommendation to approve LaSAS Lease.

On motion by Aimee Dupuy, seconded by Robin Moreau, the Board approved the LaSAS Lease. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY

2.         Superintendent Tutor, Superintendent, addressed the Board with a recommendation to approve the Rapides Foundation 2024-2025 Grants.

a.                   Healthy Behavior Grant - $53,400.00

b.                  Effective Schools Grant - $125,000.00

On motion by Robin Moreau, seconded by Aimee Dupuy, the Board approved the Rapides Foundation 2024-2025 Grants. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY

3.         Superintendent Tutor, addressed the Board with a recommendation to approve the Board Resolution to give authority to Jenny Welch and Wendy Marchand to sign on behalf of the Avoyelles Parish School Board for the Rapides Foundation 2024-2025 Grants.

On motion by Aimee Dupuy, seconded by Robin Moreau, the Board approved the Board Resolution to give authority to Jenny Welch and Wendy Marchand to sign on behalf of the Avoyelles Parish School Board for the Rapides Foundation 2024-2025 Grants. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY

4.         Superintendent Tutor, addressed the Board with a recommendation to approve the Advising Agreement between the Avoyelles Parish School Board and Attuned Education Partners, LLC, funded by SA Strong School Systems Grant, in the amount of $150,000.

On motion by Robin Moreau, seconded by Jay Callegari, the Board approved the Advising Agreement between the Avoyelles Parish School Board and Attuned Education Partners, LLC, funded by SA Strong School Systems Grant, in the amount of $150,000. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY

5.                  Ray Carlock, Maintenance Supervisor, addressed the Board with a recommendation to approve the LaSAS/PES Cafeteria/Central Office reroofing to low bidder.

On motion by Aimee Dupuy, seconded by Robin Moreau, the Board approved the low bidder Dixie Roofing in the amount of $156,200.00, funded by ESSER, for LaSAS Gym, PES Cafeteria and Central Office.

6.                  On motion by Robin Moreau, seconded by Jay Callegari, the Board removed item #6 from the agenda. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY

There being no further business, on motion by Robin Moreau, seconded by Aimee Dupuy, the meeting was adjourned.
